Marnus Smalberger

Marnus is the director of Fort Knox Legal, practising exclusively in the areas of Wills, estate planning and deceased estate administration.

Marnus is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and speaks English and Afrikaans fluently. He holds a Master of Laws majoring in Wills and Estates.

Andreus van der Vyver

Andreus holds a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Business and a Master of Laws majoring in Business Law and Transactions. Andreus assists clients with a wide range of matters, including Debt Recovery, Elder Law, Trusts, Self-Managed Superannuation Funds and Binding Financial Agreements. He is also PEXA Certified and able to assist clients with a variety of property transactions.

After completing a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice, Andreus was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in 2018, and admitted to the High Court of Australia in 2023. Andreus regularly appears in the Supreme Court and State Administrative Tribunal.

Brian Barrett

Brian is responsible for maintaining and developing our client-business relationships. He takes a proactive approach to determine client needs, expectations and issues, and acts as the liason between the client and the practice.

Brian also manages our debt collection department collecting outstanding money on behalf of businesses and individuals.

Jessica McCarthy

Jessica is a paralegal and manages the office. She assists with the preparation of applications for probate and deals predominantly with deceased estate administration.

She is also the legal assistant to the director.

Deirdre Riley

Deirdre joined Fort Knox Legal in April 2015 as our in-house accountant. Deirdre's position entails managing the accounting functions within the practice.

Deirdre is a qualified Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and brings with her a wealth of experience having worked predominantly within the legal and accounting environments for over 28 years.

We are in excellent hands with the business acumen, loyalty and enthusiasm she provides.

Mary Lang

Mary joined Fort Knox Legal in early 2015, and is a Senior Document Controller. She is in charge of updating our precedents and keeping our safe custody department in order.

Caroline Mathews

Caroline is responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support. As our Receptionist, she is the first point of contact with all our clients.
